Continuing Our Charitable Traditions

“Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.” This statement found on Giving Tuesday’s website sums up the benevolent spirit of an organization that is working to improve our world, one positive step at a time. What began in 2012 as a grassroots movement created at the 92nd Street Y and its Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact in New York City, has grown to become globally recognized, with millions of participants around the world doing their part to make a positive impact on someone else’s life. While this independent nonprofit organization encourages thinking of every Tuesday as a Giving Tuesday, there is an annual celebration of this event each year, which recently fell on November 30th.

In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, Frisch Financial Group has continued several charitable traditions we look forward to each holiday season.

Small Comforts for Military

Active military personnel who are unable to be with their families during the holidays expect nothing while giving everything of themselves in service to our country. We cannot thank them and their families enough for their sacrifices, which can feel especially difficult at this time of year, but we strive to share with them our appreciation. As in previous years, we collected and sent a variety of “comforts from home” that ranged from cookies, chips, and chocolate to playing cards, soccer balls, and luxury soaps. It’s our honor to provide care packages for these soldiers who are stationed overseas in hopes that they may enjoy a little holiday cheer.

“Adopting” 21 Families

This year Frisch Financial Group “adopted” 21 disadvantaged Long Island families with a total of 50 individuals, many of whom are children. Working off lists submitted by the families, our staff members went shopping on their own time to try and fulfill as many wishes as possible. With 2021 being our sixth year participating in this sponsorship, many of our staff members look forward to this opportunity to spread some joy and get their own families involved in the process of purchasing clothes and toys.

Winter Coat Drive

We are especially thankful for the wonderful support our clients have shown us in donating winter coats for those in need. This annual tradition that started in 2016 has grown each year as our staff members, their families, and many clients have contributed to this important cause.

At Frisch Financial Group, we are thankful for the opportunity to offer some support to families and individuals who are facing challenges during the holiday season. In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we encourage others to look for ways they may brighten someone else’s day.
