Charitable Acts in 2020

With the 2020 holiday season here, the effects of the pandemic have altered many of the traditions we’ve enjoyed in the past.  Get-togethers are downsizing or going virtual, lots of shopping is taking place online, and many of us are seeking creative new ways to safely celebrate with loved ones.  Given the challenges we are all facing, at Frisch Financial Group we felt it was important to maintain some of the charitable traditions that we look forward to each year.

Care Packages for Military

Perhaps closest to our hearts, as we have done several times in the past, is sending gifts to our selfless and brave active military members who are unable to be with their families as they are serving overseas.  Frisch Financial’s own Denise Jackson, a senior client services associate, counts herself among the proud family members sending love and support from home. Her husband, Darren, who served as a Marine for 13 years and has been in the Air Force for 23 years, is currently on duty overseas.  Our office gathered a variety of items ranging from skin care products, to footballs and frisbees, to candy and snacks that offered a taste of home.  Additionally, Joyce Streithorst, Frisch Financial Group’s newest partner, brought in items to include that were generously contributed by her chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, an organization of which she is an active member.  We were thrilled to learn that the care packages were received with smiles and were helping to bring these dedicated men and women a little bit of comfort.

“Adopting” Families for the Holidays

In 2016, Frisch Financial Group decided that we would provide clothes and toys to ten Long Island children who were in need.  Many of our staff members had been doing this with their own community or faith-based organizations for years, and we felt it would be a wonderful way for our office to directly help others during the holiday season.  2020 now marks our fifth year in which we have had the privilege to bring some joy to disadvantaged local families.  On their own time and often along with the help of their own families, Frisch Financial staff members shop to purchase both necessities and fun items specifically requested on the individuals’ wish lists.  This year we were able to sponsor 22 Long Island families with a total of 56 people and the recipients were mostly children along with a few disabled grandparents.

Winter Coat Collection

We began the tradition of hosting a winter coat drive back in 2016 and have continued it each year since then.  While we are so proud of our staff members for their ongoing efforts to support this cause, we are equally as thankful for the generosity of our clients.  One of our clients has graciously donated every year since we began this collection.

At Frisch Financial Group, we are aware of the unprecedented challenges that so many people are facing due to the pandemic.  It’s our sincere goal to help ease some of the burden, especially during this trying time.
